Bio Gas Anaerobic Digestion Process

Napier farming & other feedstock collection
 

Napier grass farming will be done on contract farming on farmer’s fields, which upon certain growth will cut done & transported to Krane Bioenergy CBG plant. Also the proposed plant is designed to intake other feed stock e.g. paddy straw, cow dung, poultry litter, etc.

Shredding & Slurry Preparation
 

The feed stock received at CBG plant is shredded to smaller sizes & moved into Pre digester to mix with water. The shredding process makes the feed stock uniform to release biogas. Enzyme is added to accelerate biogas generation at this process.

Anaerobic Digestion  
 

The slurry prepared is feed into digestor for anaerobic digestion. The biogas generated is collected by membrane installed on top of digestor. Ferric chloride is added to suppress Hydrogen Sulphide generation.

Biogas is a product from the process of degradation of organic matter by anaerobic bacteria. The biogas generation process consists of four subsequent chemical and biochemical reactions i.e.  

1. Hydrolysis Reaction: Hydrolysis reaction decomposes organic molecule such as carbohydrates, proteins and fats into glucose, amino acids and fatty acids, respectively.
    
2. Acidogenesis Reaction: Acidogenesis converts those generated small organic molecules to volatile organic acids with help from bacteria.
    
3. Acetogenesis Reaction: During the Acetogenesis process, bacteria in the acetic group digests volatile organic acids and releases acetic acid.
    
4. Methanogenesis Reaction. Lastly, anaerobic bacteria in the methanogenic producing bacteria group will complete the Methanogenesis process by converting acetic acid to methane gas and other gases like carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide .
